John Mack has been on our Board of Managers since August 2015. Mr. Mack is the former chairman and CEO of Morgan Stanley, where he spent a career that spans 30 years, serving in various leadership positions, including president, chief operating officer and a director. Prior to rejoining Morgan Stanley as chairman and CEO in June 2005, Mr. Mack served as co-chief executive officer of Credit Suisse Group and chief executive officer of Credit Suisse First Boston. Mr. Mack currently serves as senior advisor to Morgan Stanley. He also is a member of the board of directors of Lending Club, a peer-to-peer lending company; Tri Alpha Energy, a developer of clean fusion energy; Glencore International AG, a global natural resource company; and is a board member of the Bloomberg Family Foundation.
Additionally, Mr. Mack serves on the advisory board for China Investment Corporation, as well as the International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Beijing and the executive committee of the Partnership for New York City. He is a member of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum, the NYC Financial Services Advisory Committee, and the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Council. He also serves on the board of trustees of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the University Hospital of both Columbia and Cornell.
Mr. Mack is a graduate of Duke University.
John Sculley joined the Board of Managers in August 2015. Mr. Sculley served as chairman, CEO and CTO during a decade-long career at Apple Computer, Inc., following his tenure as the youngest president of the Pepsi-Cola Company. Most recently, he has founded several companies, including Obi Worldphone, a Silicon Valley design-led company that markets high-quality smartphones at affordable price points. Additionally, Mr. Sculley is a founder of Zeta Interactive, one of the largest marketing cloud firms in consumer marketing-tech. He currently is an author, recognized expert and popular speaker about high-tech tools for tackling challenges such as corporate revitalization and the high cost of healthcare.
Mr. Sculley received a bachelor's degree from Brown University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
James Held joined the Board of Managers in October 2014. Mr. Held has more than 30 years of high-level executive experience in merchandising and retail. As president and CEO of the Home Shopping Network, Mr. Held was responsible for many consecutive years of sales and earnings increases, positioning the company for future growth and international expansion. Prior to HSN, he joined QVC Network as executive vice president, where he was responsible for all aspects of QVC's merchants planning programs new business development, including the formation of new strategic alliances. He also served as president and chairman of the Shop At Home television retailing network. He was also vice chairman of USA Networks Division of HSN, Inc. In addition to Mr. Held's interactive commerce experience, he served as president and chief executive officer for Adrienne Vittadini Inc., a designer, wholesale, retail and manufacturing company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Held worked at Bloomingdales for more than 12 years in various merchandising and management positions.
Mr. Held is a graduate of Allegheny College and holds a J.D. degree from the Albany Law School at Union
Seth Johnson joined the Board of Managers in October 2014. Mr. Johnson has more than 30 years of management experience in various retail capacities. He previously served as CEO of Pacific Sunwear of California, a publicly traded action sports retailer. During his tenure, the company achieved the highest earnings in its history and grew to over 1,000 stores and $1.4 billion in sales. Mr. Johnson also served as the CFO and COO of Abercrombie & Fitch, helping grow the company into a multi-billion dollar specialty retailer. He also was lead director at True Religion Apparel, Inc., and currently serves on the board of directors for Tilly's, Inc. and bebe Stores, inc.
Mr. Johnson received his bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Kevin Knight is an experienced payments and loyalty programs executive. He is principal of KT Knight Consulting LLC and serves on the boards of companies and non-profit organizations.
As the former head of credit and debit card products, North America for Visa, Inc., Knight grew the consumer credit, debit and small business suite, and supported the development and deployment of Visa Analytics. Prior to Visa, Knight served as Nordstrom's EVP and president of the credit division, overseeing the credit business, loyalty programs, and payment acceptance at stores. During his 14-year tenure, he built the firm's retail loyalty program while establishing profitable credit and debit payment product solutions. As chairman and CEO of Nordstrom fsb, a wholly owned federal savings bank subsidiary with an independent board of directors, Knight recruited new directors, significantly improving industry expertise and strategic guidance.
Knight also achieved success during his 20-year career at GE Capital, serving in a variety of positions with responsibility for managing, marketing, structuring, as well as selling and servicing the outsourcing of credit card and other financial services.
In addition to serving on the board for Lantern, Knight is a director and chair of the audit committee for World's Foremost Bank (Cabelas), as well as a trustee for University of Redlands and a regent for Loyola Marymount University.
Mr. Knight holds an MBA from the University of Colorado and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Redlands.
