Information We Collect
We collect “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Identifiable Information.” Non-Personal Information (“NPI”) includes information that cannot be used to personally identify you, such as anonymous usage data, general demographic information we may collect, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, preferences you submit and preferences that are generated based on the data you submit and number of clicks.
When you register online at www.lanterncredit.com, Personal Identifiable Information (“PII” or “personal information”) such as your name, address, email address, zip code, gender, birth date, social security number, phone number, driver’s license number and other demographic information is provided to us. Lantern uses this information for identify verification which permits us to pull your credit score and credit report.
Lantern also receives your PII from its business partners—credit bureaus and financial institutions. Your PII is used internally to provide statistical and data analytics and also to assist us in providing you with relative information and updates about our product and services.
The Lantern website and its services are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. Our consumers and visitors’ privacy is important to us, and we recognize the need to provide additional privacy protection for children on the Lantern website permitting such visitors. Our privacy practices are guided by the United States’ Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, as well as data privacy laws in the United States and other applicable countries. Younger visitors should always check with their parents or guardians before entering information on any website or mobile application and we encourage families to discuss their household guidelines regarding the online sharing of personal information. If you believe your child has entered personal information on our website, please contact us at email@example.com via email and we will delete any personal identifiable information.
Information Collected Via Technology
- Location information. If your device is location-enabled, and you consent, we can access your location and provide offers specific to your location. We may use device information for data such as your city, state, and IP address.
- Usage and Log information. In addition to cookies, information may also be collected through embedded scripts or Web beacons.

What information does the Mobile Application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
When you register with us and use the application, you generally provide (a) your name, email address, user name, password and other registration information; (b) transaction-related information, such as when you make purchases, respond to any offers, or download or use applications from us; (c) information you provide us when you contact us for help; (d) credit card information for payments, and; (e) information you enter into our system when using the application, such as contact information. We may also use the information you provided us to contact your from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices and marketing promotions.
Automatically Collected Information
In addition, the application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile devices unique device ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the application.
Does the Mobile Application collect precise real time location information of the device?
When you visit the mobile application, we may use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location in order to determine the city you are located within and display a location map with relevant advertisements. We will not share your current location with other users or partners.
If you do not want us to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your account settings or in your mobile phone settings and/or within the mobile application.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Mobile Application?
Yes. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement. We may disclose user provided and automatically collected information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
- if Lantern is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.
What are my opt-out rights?
Uninstall the application to stop all collection of information by the application. You can also request to opt-out via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
We will retain user provided data for as long as you use the application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain automatically collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate. If you would like us to delete user provided data that you have provided via the application, please contact us at email@example.com and we will respond in a reasonable time. Please note that some or all of the user provided data may be required in order for the application to function properly.
We do not use the application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
The Company may use both persistent and session cookies; persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your session and until you delete them, while session cookies expire when you close your browser. For example, we store a persistent cookie to track website preferences.
We may send push notices to you via our mobile application to provide you information on products, services, promotions or announcements. If you no longer wish to receive such communications, you may turn them off at the device level.

How We Use and Share Information
In general, the Personal Identifiable Information you provide to us is used to help us communicate with you. For example, we use Personal Identifiable Information to contact users in response to questions, solicit feedback from users, provide technical support, and inform users about promotional offers.
How We Protect Information
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access. Your account is protected by your account password and we urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe by not disclosing your password and by logging out of your account after each use. We further protect your information from potential security breaches by implementing certain technological security measures including encryption, firewalls and secure socket layer technology. However, these measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. By using our Service, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
Your Rights Regarding the Use of Your Personal Information
If you want to terminate your account, Lantern must comply with data record keeping and retention requirements. Therefore, when you terminate your account, the information is not immediately deleted and may be retained up to two years. Your account is considered inactive and can no longer be accessed by anyone other than Lantern-authorized personnel.
